I just think it would be easier for beginners to get their easier chords down and be able to practice different tunings

could you use a capo instead?

I really don't think tuning everything a whole step below is that necessary. You can easily play the chords in standard tuning:- Dm XX0231- Bb X13331- F XX3211- Fadd9 XX3011
