Intro

C G Am7/G F - G G

              C G
I come from a long line of pain
   Am Am7/G F - G
My family suffered great of all my games
      C G
And I think a lot about
       Am Am7/G F G G
How my daddy died, so I would not live with that

        Am G C
And his heart is in my song
       F
But the melody comes
G C G/B Am
And just as quickly, the melody is gone
F
I’m back alone

G
Far from home.

Now my momma is all alone
I try to call her and see her when I’m home
After all that she’s been trough
All the doctors say; there ain’t nothing we can do..

And her heart is in my song
But the melody comes
And just as quickly, the melody is gone
I’m back alone
Far from home.

          Am G/B C
There’s a bird outside my window
F G
Takes his song where he goes
    C G/B Am
And leaves it there
F G
Like a dead men’s rocking chair..

Solo

And tonight I’m feeling lost and
Headin’ down the highway out to boston
I get the sense I might lose it
I thank god tonight for the lot I got in music

‘Cause my heart is in this song
But the melody comes
And just as quickly, the melody is gone
I’m back alone
Far from home.

Hey, the chords sound good but the lyrics in the first verse are incorrect. I know that lyrics are an interpretation, but your lyrics carry a level of guilt which are not present in this song. I come from a long line of pain My family suffered greatly for my gain And I think a lot about How my daddy died, so I would not live without The rest sound correct. Like I said, I don't usually comment, but the previous lyrics change the entire tenor of the first verse. Thanks for putting up that tab!
