The first six of Rode's 24 Caprices are here edited with addition of a second violin part. This can be used by a teacher, or alternatively the pieces are suitable as attractive short concert pieces. Pierre Rode (1774-1830) was a member of a group of eminent violinists in Paris which included Kreutzer, Baillot and Viotti. He wrote extensively for the violin and his music is both lyrical and lively.
