Ningal is a slave girl at the time of the Pharoahs in Egypt (ironically named after the Sumerian-Akkadian Goddess, mother of the Sun God). When the Egyptian queen dies, Ningal is one of the slaves who have to follow her into the tomb and to die there. This is her simple but effective song ("Now is the time of our going into darkness, from darkness to light"). The sound sample is an electronic preview. The alto voice and guitar version is also available here. A version is also available for flute and guitar, appearing as the last movement of the music for the stage play ATON.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
