Piano/Vocal/Chords - Intermediate - Digital Download

SKU: S0.52137

Composed by Tonia Grubb. Jazz,Swing. Sheet Music Single. 3 pages. Published by Lindy Mack (S0.52137).

Key: Eb/F. Swing at 114 bpm. Medium. Vocal melody, lyrics, piano accompaniment, chord names. 3 pages. Vocal Range: G3–D5 (19 steps). This piece is based on a big band arrangement that was written in celebration of Doris Day’s 90th birthday, April 3, 2014. Tonia Grubb sang with the Unforgettable Big Band (feature band) at the Les Brown Centennial Festival in March 2012. Inspired by a personal letter from Ms. Day that was read during the program, Tonia penned the original melody and lyrics in the days following and later collaborated with the band’s assistant director Lindy Mack for the big band score. That arrangement was introduced in 2014 by Unforgettable Big Band of York, Pennsylvania, under direction of Tom McLaughlin. Later that year, the authors completed this sheet music. With the sweetness and charm that characterizes Ms. Day, this piano/vocal arrangement would be a unique piece for any vocalist to showcase at a talent show, club meeting, tea party, or special event for that loved one who is a big Doris Day fan.
