The lyrics for this song were inspired by the promises found in 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 and 1 Thessalonians 4:1-18. The encouraging words of Jesus' soon return paired with the upbeat tune will bring hope and joy to the listeners: "The trumpet will sound; the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout. And we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye when the Lord returns to take us home. . . "
 
Since the lyrics and title speak of the sound of a trumpet, optional solo and accompaniment parts are included for a B-flat trumpet. This piece is an excellent choice for a children's unison choir.
