Exceptionally fresh and well-crafted setting of this Langston Hughes classic poem. The natural, lilting mix of 5/8 and 6/8 meters suggests the gentle, but energetic dance rhythms of raindrops. Very accessible. Limited ranges, especially for Part III. Overflows with teaching possibilities. Most effective. A concert/festival winner!
