Composition: 1850. Presentation: Introduction, essential dates of George Onslow's life - differences of detail between the sources. The full score by Achille Gouffe, included in the present edition, contains a version with double bass and no second viola. A very interesting formation for present-day musicians. - Original Brandus edition in separate parts: 1st violin - 2nd violin - 1st viola - 2nd viola - Cello. - Score copied by Gouffe. Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris and at the CEFEDEM Ile de France (Training Centre for Music Teachers).
