(Level IV) Taken from two movements of Paul Winter's Mass for the Earth, this arrangement is a unique "world music" feature for any vocal jazz or contemporary a cappella ensemble. It opens with a lush harmonization of a traditional plainsong melody, then quickly changes to Native American chant over an Afro-Brazilian vocalese groove. Recorded by UNC's Et Cetera on Hot XII.
