It was premiered in 2007, at Salurinn Hall in Reykjavik.Icelandic Ballad is a reflection upon the mysteries of Iceland, its volcanic and treeless nature, a swell as upon an introvert character of the Icelanders. The piece is a set of ten variations on a Medieval Icelandic hymn from the Book of Lilly (1340).
