Since its composition in France in the 1920s, Otche nash (Our Father) by Nikolai Kedroff, Sr. (18711940) has become one of the mostbeloved settings of the Lord's Prayer among both Russians and nonRussians. Departing from the tradition of singing this prayer congregationally, this composition expresses the meditative and deeply devotional aspects of this moment in the Orthodox Divine Liturgy.
