According to Grymes (Ernst von Dohnanyi) (reference material with worklist) (p.36): partially sketched out for chamber orchestra in 1910; the entire first movement exists in manuscript in a copy dated 27 September 1916 in a version for chamber orchestra (Mus. Ms. 3.267/b) (unless I am misunderstanding). Completed 1935 April 3; manuscripts at the Szechenyi library.
