Original

Edmund Banyard and Kathleen Johnson. This play for Passiontide is built around a character in an unnamed country, eventually taken for execution. The play relates the events from which the Christian Gospel was born as the Passion narrative is interwoven with the story of our contemporary 'Tom'. The music can be played on keyboard, but is best supplemented with flute and guitar and other improvising instruments. The play runs for about two hours and formed part of a festival of plays presented for a season at London's Westminster Theatre. A minimum of five male actors and two female singing actors is needed, with opportunity for all the extras and an on or off stage chorus.
