Born in Vienna in 1900, Krenek moved to the United States just before World War II and became a citizen there in 1945, moving with ease through the various aesthetic and stylistic changes that marked that turbulent century, taking what he considered the best features of each and fusing them into a new language all his own. This Trio was written in 1946 but not published until 1955. it is dramatic yet witty. It was long out of print but has returned due to popular demand.
