Hans Newsidler was born in approximately 1510. He published eight Lute books in Nurnberg between 1536 and 1549, consisting of vocal compositions, instrumental pieces and dances. Two of these books,'Ein Newgeordent Kunstlich Lautenbuch' and 'Ein New Kunstlich Lauten Buch' have provided the material in this book, transcribed by Joseph Weidlich for the Guitar.
