The final chorus of the oratorio, "Susanna," is the musical source for this setting of Psalm 145. Although most of the original choral parts have been retained, some of the vocal melismas have been transferred to the keyboard accompaniment. Happily, this change makes Handel's solidly homophonic anthem of praise quite accessible for most choirs.
