Rumba on Green Dolphin Street. Trombone sheet music.

Original

Rumba on Green Dolphin Street arranged by Thomas Ball. For trombone ensemble. 8 or more trombones. Score and set of parts. Published by UNC Jazz Press. NC.1929. This arrangement, originally conceived for trombone octet, can be expanded for a trombone choir. The doubling of parts for balance should be done at the discretion of the director. Section C is intended for quartet only. The arrangement requires absolute rhythmic precision from all. There should be plenty of front on most notes, especially more rhythmic phrases. The dynamics should be delicate throughout except at key points. The bass trombone part VIII is featured and this arrangement would work nicely on a bass trombonist's recital. A Latin rhythm section could be used although the arrangement was written to stand on its own and there are no extra parts. The entire arrangement is based on the 3-2 Rumba Clave. rhythm, even the swing section.
