Night Pieces - SATB Choral. Full Score. Choir sheet music. Piano Accompaniment sheet music.

Original

Night Pieces - SATB Choral. Full Score composed by Jac Redford. For SATB choir, piano. with optional instrumental accompaniment. Major Work. Choral. full score. Published by Roger Dean Publishing. LO.45-1141R. The allure of night proves an endless delight when Wordsworth's words are married to Redford's music in this probing triptych. Like a dark sea whose calm surface belies a roiling depth, these "Night Pieces" reflect the brilliance of their struggling moon with soaring melodies, while underneath, the water conspires, dashing the rocks only to recede in a wash of foam. The music serves the poetry in deliberate tones, now surging wildly, now ebbing gently. Unisons blossom into counterpoint, and harmonies signal a wavering between stable hues and changing moods. Rhythm follows suit between static stillness and ecstatic pulsations. This piece, along with "Napili Bay, 2pm". 15. 2322R. and other pieces by J. A. C. Redford can be heard on the recording "Evening Wind" by the Los Angeles Chamber Singers, Peter Rutenberg, Conductor. Clarion Recordings CLR916CD. Liner notes by Peter Rutenberg. How Beautiful the Queen of Night. A Night-piece. The Sun Has Long Been Set.
