In this regard, he was a extremely successful and much sought-after teacher, even counting Franz Liszt among his pupils. Liszt not only dedicated his Transcendental Etudes to Czerny -- who had been the first to use the word "Etude" as a title -- but also involved him in the collaborative work, Hexameron. Czerny contributed the fifth variation. Carl Czerny died in Vienna, on July 15th, 1857. Solo Piano.
