Duets. Vol. 2. Jean-Philippe Rameau. Bass Clarinet sheet music.

Original

Duets. Vol. 2 composed by Jean-Philippe Rameau. 1683-1764. Arranged by Michael & Kimberly Davenport. For clarinet & bass clarinet duet. Classical. baroque period. Duo score. 5 pages. Published by Alea Publishing. A7.ALEA1104. A contemporary of Bach, Handel, Scarlatti and Telemann, Jean-Philippe Rameau was one of the most important composers of the Baroque era. Although he is primarily known today for his operas, his output was large and diverse, including both sacred and secular vocal works, and a substantial number of instrumental pieces. These arrangements for clarinet and bass clarinet duet are taken from a few of Rameau's many charming pieces for solo keyboard. Keys have been changed, but the range and relationship between the parts remains faithful to the original. Volume 2 contains two slightly longer and more challenging pieces. An extended-range bass clarinet is NOT required, but much more of the range of the instrument is utilized in this volume than in the first. These pieces would again make for excellent teaching material, and could be added to a recital or contest program either individually or as a set.
