Naji Hakim, geb. 1955 in Beirut, studierte bei Jean Langlais und Rolande Falcinelli und gehort zu den fuhrenden Orgelkomponisten der Gegenwart. Sein Variationszyklus uber den Choral "Wie schon leucht uns der Morgenstern" ist ein Kompositionsauftrag der "Freunde der Musik am Liebfrauenmunster, Ingolstadt" und wurde am 14. September 2008 von ihm zusammen mit dem Oboisten Georgi Kobulaschwili uraufgefuhrt. Wie immer bei Naji Hakim verbinden sich formale Meisterschaft und elegante Melodik mit einem Gespur fur die individuellen klanglichen Moglichkeiten des jeweiligen Instrumentes. His cycle of variations over the chorale "As bright us the Morning Star" is a commission from the "Friends of Music at Our Lady Munster, Ingolstadt" and was born on 14. September 2008 premiered by him along with the oboist Georgi Kobulaschwili.
