Published by Edition Kunzelmann. PE.OCT10195. Johann Michael Haydn. brother of Joseph. was born in Rohrau, Austria, on September 14th, 1737. He began his musical career as a boy soprano in the choir of Saint Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna. Shortly after leaving the choir-school, he was appointed Kapellmeister at Nagyvarad, and later. in 1762. at Salzburg. a position he held for forty-three years, during which time he composed 360 works for the church, as well as much instrumental music.
