Andante Festivo. Cello Quartet. Jean Sibelius. Advanced.

Original

Andante Festivo. Cello Quartet. composed by Jean Sibelius. 1865-1957. Arranged by Matteo Delfino. For Cello, Chamber Orchestra. Romantic Period. Advanced Intermediate. Score, Set of Parts. Published by Matteo Delfino. S0.6902. "Andante Festivo by Jean Sibelius is one of his only works for String Quartet, so why not make it for a Cello Quartet too. The beautiful harmonies of Andante Festivo in this arrangement are beautifully played by a rich Cello sound. This arrangement is for an Advanced Intermediate Cello Ensemble. The aim of this arrangement is to keep it as original as it could be, but just to adapt it for a Cello Ensemble. The Cello 1 part is the hardest part through all, it's written completely in tenor clef and its highest note is an E5. The Cello 2 part is quite ""double-stop heavy"" but are still quite easy double-stops. The Cello 2 is completely written in bass clef and its highest note is an A4. In the Cello 3 part there is very little double-stopping and doesn't require a lot of position work. The highest note that the Cello 3 plays is an E4. The Cello 4 part is quite easy although it requires some position work just for the double-stops. The highest note the Cello 4 plays is a G#3 and doesn't even use the A string completely. This piece is completely bowed to help with the sound, dynamics and articulations of the piece. The arrangement of Andate Festivo has been kept in its original key of G major since it was ""Cello-friendly"" and maintained some of the feel that Sibelius intended. This arrangement is already bowed but feel free to change anything. Visit http. matteodelfino. wordpress. com. category. sheet-music. for other sheet music titles and recordings.
