There is a “surprise”. double. -repeat. with accompanying key changes. of the last chorus’s “If ever I loved Thee. ” phrase, before the final phrase. “My Jesus ‘Tis Now.". That last phrase is half-timed. Melody doubling into the higher bells is used toward the end. There is one brief descant line.
