Original

Through a Childs Eyes composed by Joe Riposo. For big band. Medium to difficult. Score and parts. Published by Walrus Music Publishing. WA.51546. A Tribute to Sal Nestico. This composition was commissioned by the Mellon CNY Humanities Corridor and College of Arts & Science of Syracuse University. Through A Childs Eyes is a medium difficult level jazz ensemble chart playable by any good high school or college jazz ensemble. This is a fun chart to play. Because of its high energy level it sounds more difficult than it is. It is harmonically an excellent chart to teach line direction and balance. This chart will give you a standing ovation at each concert. It starts as a ballad with a haunting melodic line and soon after progresses into a hard driving swing section featuring solos by Alto Saxophone, Trombone and Trumpet. The chart closes as it began as a slow ballad. Standard instrumentation. 5,4,4, p, b, d, g. The 1st trumpet goes up to a high D above the staff in one phrase and up to a high A in the ending phrase. 1st Trombone goes up to a high A above the staff in one phrase.
