Henri Herz was born Heinrich Herz, in Vienna, on January 6th, 1803. In 1816, he entered the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Victor Dourlen and Anton Reicha. Herz became a celebrated pianist, performing tours in Europe, Russia, South America, and the U.S.A.. travelling as far as San Francisco. He taught at the Conservatoire from 1842 to 1874, and died in Paris on January 5th, 1888. solo piano.
