Original

One More Redeemer composed by Elizabeth Alexander. For Mixed Chorus. SATB choir a cappella. Church Choir-Anthem. Sacred-Special Church Events-Baptism, Children, Worship & Praise, Choral. Moderately Easy. Octavo. Text language. English. Duration 2 minutes. Published by Seafarer Press. SF.SEA-072-00. With Text language. English. Sacred-Special Church Events-Baptism, Children, Worship & Praise, Choral. A warm-hearted affirmation of the divine spark in each child. Rich in close-harmony voicings and counterpoint, this American folk. gospel-inspired song is especially moving as an anthem for baptism and child dedication services. Composer's Note. For many years, Unitarian Universalist minister Rob Eller-Isaacs has spoken of each new birth as the arrival of "one more redeemer". This phrase has now become an essential part of dedication and baptism ceremonies in many churches. My adaptation of Eller-Isaacs' words also includes excepts from a sermon given by his friend and colleague Rev. Bill Neely. Text. Every child is born one more redeemer In each new heart is a spark divine, One more voice for compassion, one more holy sign, One more chance to restore and reveal and receive. This is our faith, this we believe. That every child is born bring one more redeemer to this world. Original texts copyright 1997 by Rob Eller-Isaacs and copyright 2005 by Bill Neely. Adapted lyric copyright 2006 by Elizabeth Alexander.
