Since its publication almost twenty-five years ago, Jack Noble White's setting of The First Song Of Isaiah has enjoyed tremendous popularity. A large part of its appeal is that it can be effectively performed in a simple, meditative manner or as a festival celebration with multiple resources. To this end, a Festival Edition was published in 1996. Its Old Testament text makes it useful not only in Judeo-Christian communities, but also in multi-faith gatherings. White's new setting of "The Third Song of Isaiah" offers this same flexibility and universal appeal. Built around a tuneful congregational refrain. the Congregational Part is included in the score. , the choir weaves the time-honored phrases found in Isaiah 60. For festive occasions, the optional Festival Introduction and Coda may be added. An optional instrumental pack is available, allowing brass and timpani to add further splendor to the occasion.
