Original

Zwei Suiten composed by Jan Antonin Losy. 1650-1721. For guitar. Czech title. Dve suity. Classical. Performance score. Published by Editio Baerenreiter Praha. PA.H7892. ISBN 9790260102132. Classical. 31 x 23.5 cm inches. This edition of works by Jan Antonin Losy is a product of Pavel Steidl's rare invention and a feeling for the Czech lute repertory. Dance movements, stemming from various manuscript sources, were grouped by the editor into two dance suites in a manner typical for the times of the composer. the beginning of the 18th century. The arrangements grew out of the editor's belief that strikingly simple tablature notation represents solely an outline of the overall musical picture. Thus, the editor's role, unlike those common in Early music editions, is more authorial, however, the way arrangements have been carried out represents a general guide on a creative approach - sensitive and in line with the period taste - to Losy's compositions.
