Schweizer Arbeitstagung fur Jugendmusik und Musikerziehung geschrieben. Der Stoff musste zeitnah, gemeinverstandlich und doch ansprechend sein, vor allem aber der kindlichen Phantasie entgegenkommen. Ausgehend von gemachten Erfahrungen vermied ich alles Lehrhafte, ebenso alles Sentimentale, suchte jedoch die Groteske auf, in welcher sich manche Tiefenbedeutung in kurioser Gewandung verbergen lasst. Bei der Auffuhrung sollte jedoch darauf geachtet werden, dass die parodistischen Akzente nicht ubertrieben zur Darstellung kommen. Eine musikalische Reise durch Europa bot fur dieses Vorhaben die besten Voraussetzungen. man erwarte jedoch keinen folkloristischen Anschauungsunterricht, wenngleich sich mehrmals deutliche Bezuge zur Volksmusik der zitierten Lander vorfinden. diese sollen das betreffende Land in einfacher Weise charakterisieren.
