PETITA SUITE This work is divided into five short movements in which two fast movements are followed by two short ones. The first movements are of a burlesque nature and the second ones are more pensive. I wanted to provide a score which is easy to play, allows a relaxed and pleasant performance by the musicians and is suitable for trainee pianists. The aesthetics of the piece are taken from other recent works of mine, namely Concertino, Sonatina and the two Divertimenti in which the language is direct and extrovert. MOMENT MUSICAL. Musical Moment. This is a short sketch consisting of a short movement in D minor in which a gentle, simply melody against an ostinato bass line creates an ecstatic atmosphere. --Jordi Cervello. La Pequena suite. 1996. es una obra de estructura simetrica formada por una serie de cinco movimientos, en que el tres rapidos -que con su caracter divertido, jugueton, parecen evocar la musica que acompanaba los filmes de Charlot que tan gustan al compositor- encuadran a los dos lentos -de caracter contemplativo-. Nos encontramos ante una obra extrovertida, escrita en un lenguaje claramente tonal, que surgio al mismo tiempo que los dos Divertimenti para dos violines, con los que comparte la atmosfera ligera y distendida de aquellos anos. Todo ello nos hace percibir la clara intencion pedagogica de la obra. El Momento Musical. 1996. , dedicado al pianista Angel Soler, es un Andantino suave y de gran serenidad, escrito en la tonalidad de re menor. La obra surge en un feliz instante de inspiracion, sin ninguna premeditacion, en la mas pura actitud de los autores del siglo XIX. La inevitable evocacion a Schubert que se desprende del titulo podemos hallarla reflejada en el caracter de contemplacion intima, invernal, de una melodia inocente, sutilmente modificada cada dos compases, que camina descansando todo el rato en un bajo constante e inalterable.
