Famous Adagio. Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni. Grade 3.

Original

Celebre Adagio composed by Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni. 1671-1751. Arranged by Willy Hautvast. For concert band. Arrangements of Classical Compositions. Slow Movements and Solemn Works. Funeral Marches. Liberation Day. Classic Arrangement. Recorded on Revival. ML.311057720. Grade 3. Score only. Duration 3 minutes, 55 seconds. Published by Molenaar Edition. ML.011818030-S. An adagio is a slow piece of music, somewhat quicker as a largo, but a little bit slower than an Andante. A lot of composers have written adagios, but, no doubt, the most famous is the Adagio in G minor by Tomaso Albinoni. Venice, 1671-1750. , originally composed for organ and strings. Yet this popular tune has been constructed from a manuscript fragment by the 20th century Italian musicologist Remo Giazotto. Rome, 1910. The composition is quite well suited for a wind band transcription and Willy Hautvast did it extremely well, with his usual talent.
