ISBN 979-0-012-19970-0. Die Inspiration fur das Stuck war ein imaginares, bukolisches Szenarium - rollende grasbewachsene Hugel mit vereinzelten Standen von Laubbaumen. Nebel hullt die Landschaft ein wie ein sanftes Tuch. Auf einmal lichtet sich der Nebel, eine atemberaubende Gebirgslandschaft wird sichtbar - und verschwindet sogleich wieder. Die Violine beginnt mit dem fliessenden, folk-artigen "Hills"-Thema, atmospharisch begleitet vom Klavier. Ein Echoeffekt zwischen den beiden Instrumenten bereitet das energiegeladene, staccatoartige Hochgebirgs-Motiv vor. In weiterer Folge entwickelt sich das Stuck in einer Reihe von musikalischen Segmenten, die in verschiedenster Art auf die beiden Hauptthemen Bezug nehmen. Zum Beispiel ist die Oberstimme des Bach-inspirierten Abschnitts der Violinkadenz eng an das "Hills"-Thema angelehnt. Eine kraftvolle "Groove-Section" bildet den Hohepunkt. Das darauffolgende Ensemble-Unisono mundet in ein stimmungsvolles Klavierostinato, begleitet von sanften Flageoletttonen der Violine. Ein kurze, energetische Rekapitulation setzt den Schlusspunkt. G. The inspiration for the piece was a imaginares, bucolic scenery - rolling grassy hills with scattered deciduous trees of Standen. Fog hullt the landscape like a soft cloth. Suddenly the fog lifts, a stunning mountain scenery is visible - and disappears once again. The violin begins with the flowing, folk-style "Hills" theme, atmospharisch accompanied by the piano. An echo effect between the two instruments prepares the high mountain motif energetic, staccatoartige. Subsequently, the stucco developed in a series of musical segments that refer to different types in the two main themes. For example, the upper part of the Bach-inspired section of the violin cadenza is closely modeled on the "Hills" theme. A powerful "Groove Section" forms the climax.
