Most of what it plays is doubled in other voices. saxes, euphonium, etc. and you lose the added sonority of the low register of the Bass Clarinet. This special part puts the Bass Clarinet back in the low register and doubles the Tuba line. Much more enjoyable for your Bass Clarinetist.
