Original

An easy to intermediate difficulty anthem with organ accompaniment. or piano in a pinch. I've marked this as a "sacred anthem," but other than a passing reference to wandering wise men, the text is not overtly biblical. This could easily be used in a more secular holiday concert. Occasionally the basses are asked to sing middle "C", but only when several parts are in unison. If that's a little high for your bass section, they can fade out discretely and leave that note to the other voices and the organ without anyone being the wiser. There may be a tendency to rush the "ring out bells" sections, which will get you into trouble when you get to the sixteenth notes of the "hallelujah. " I've left the accompaniment a bit spare in those sections so the organist can free up a hand from the keyboard to direct if necessary. Merry Christmas to all.
