This glee was published in Warren's first collection of glees printed for the noblemen and gentlemen of the Catch Club c. 1762. At about this time Battishill was twice suspended from privileged membership of the club, for missing meetings. However he later won a prize medal from the club in 1771 for his glee "Come bind my hair".
