Let all the lands with shouts of joy. Joseph Stephenson. A cappella. Sacred , Hymn. Language. English. SATB.

Original

A setting of Psalm 66 in the metrical New Version, by Joseph Stephenson, from page 48 of his Church Harmony Sacred to Devotion. The first edition of this collection was published in 1757. Hymn Tune Index tune number 2649. Although this tune is headed 'Ps. 65th. A 4 Voci. ' in Church Harmony , the opening words of the text given are 'Let all the Lands with shouts of joy. &c. ', the beginning of the New Version Ps. 66. Furthermore, Psalm 65 NV, 'For thee, O God, our constant praise', is a Long Metre text, and so would not fit this Common Metre tune without some splitting of notes.
