Translation

Pues a sus luces bellas. José Torres. Mixed together. Sacred , Cantata. Language. Spanish. Only High.

Original

An elaborate solo cantata for "contralto" accompanied by two violins, an oboe and a continuo consisting of organ and “violón”. At this period the meaning of "contralto" may possibly not have clearly denoted a female rather than a male voice. The Catalan musicologist Sergi Casademunt has pointed out, in his edition of the motet “Quemadmodum desiderat” by Francisco Valls, that it is not clear whether “violón” refers to a cello or a viola da gamba.
